Each of twelve Districts must send two tributes - kids between the ages of 12 and 18 - to the Capital to participate in the Hunger Games, where they all try and kill each other and the last one standing is the victor.
This book is really fantastic. It's so creepy and weird and foreign - kids having to kill each other for the entertainment of the Capital and the punishment of the Districts...
